Each patient carries his own doctor inside him. They come to us now knowing this truth. We are at our best when they give the doctor who resides within each patient a chance to go to work. ~Albert Schweitzer
1.) Wellness Strong People Don’t Tolerate Chronic Stress
Chronic stress occurs during a duration of ongoing physiological arousal.
This happens when our body takes on stressors with such frequency and/or intensity that our autonomic nervous system doesn’t have the proper chance to trigger the relaxation response on a regular basis.
This equates to the body staying in a perpetual state of physiological turmoil which affects every other system in the body on some level.
“If you plan to get stressed like a normal mammal, you had better turn on the stress response or else you’re dead. But if you get chronically, psychosocially stressed, like a Westernized human, then you are more at risk for heart disease and some of the other leading causes of death in Westernized life.”
2.) Wellness Strong People Don’t Adopt a Victim Mindset
A victim mindset is one that a person blames others or outside circumstances for what happens or has happened in their lives.
It’s buying into the notion and believing that circumstances are beyond their control.
The victim mentality can affect health and wellness on a deep level.
People get real value in thinking that this is who you are in life.
It keeps them safe in their minds.
With this mindset, you feel less control over yourself thus
relieving you of personal responsibility.
This mind game over time, keeps you from living your best life of optimal health and well being.
3.) Wellness Strong People Don’t Use Genetics as an Excuse
Western medicine and the health care system has always taught its patients that they are victims of their genes.
They believe the mindset that within the families medical history awaits their future .
People are basically brainwashed into believing that disease of any kind is something you’re stricken with and not brought on or created by environment or lifestyle choices.
Recent research has shown that genetics contributes only about 30% to disease susceptibility while an individual’s environment contributes upwards of 70%. So, as long as these genes are turned OFF, you are safe
This genetic scare has given the pharmaceutical giants red meat so they can prey upon the public’s fear and misunderstanding.
There is a lot of truth that some people carry genes that make us more susceptible to certain diseases, it is also true that for these genes to produce disease, they must first be turned activated.
