 What is Blue Light Therapy?

Blue light therapy is a category of medical treatment. It is an alternative therapy (Latest trends here).
Blue light therapy uses blue light within certain wavelengths for destroying bad bacteria, helping the liver, treating SAD, sleep disorders, and a lot more.

Blue light therapy is very safe, very affordable, and very easy and simple to use.

Back to the Future:  Blue Light Therapy through the Filament of  Time

The use of blue light therapy has been tracked as far back to people of Ancient Rome, Egypt, and Greece, as well as the Inca and Assyrian people, and the early Germanic race.
Also to Buddhist documents dating back to 200 AD and Chinese literature from the 10th Century have both made know the use of blue light therapy.
The most common and prevalent uses of blue light therapy today, are mainly for acne treatment, MRSA treatment, and liver support.

Why is it Blue?

Blue light immediately follows UV light on the electromagnetic spectrum.
The closer the wavelength is to UV, the shorter the wavelength, and the more antibacterial properties of UV it retains.

Shorter Wavelengths are More Anti-bacterial

The nearer the wavelength is to UV, the shorter the wavelength, and thus the more antibacterial properties of UV it has.

An example of this is when you are trying to banish acne or MRSA bacteria. The wavelengths down near the violet end, such as 405 nm or 415 nm, would kill more bacteria and require a shorter treatment time than wavelengths like 450 nm or 470 nm.

Longer wavelengths though, are also still effective, but would usually require a longer treatment time. However, they have the benefit of carrying the antibacterial power of blue light deeper into the infected area.

Blue Light VS Antibiotics

During a study, lab animals were “infected” with P. aeruginosa. ALL of the animals treated with blue light survived, while 82 percent of the controls died.

This is  incredible finding because we’re nearing the end of the road of the antibiotic era, as antibiotic-resistance widens.

Blue light therapy has also been shown to be effective against MRSA and other resistant bugs, giving hope for effective treatments.

In another study published in 2009, over 90 percent of a community acquired strains of MRSA were successfully eliminated within mere minutes of exposure to blue light.

According to the study:

“These significant levels of photo-destruction at low dosages indicate that irradiation with 470nm LED light energy may be a practical, inexpensive alternative to treatment with pharmacological agents, particularly in cases involving cutaneous and subcutanious MRSA infections that are susceptible to non-invasive types of radiation.”
