What is Chakra Meditation?

Wellness on fire It wasn’t long ago I didn’t know what a chakra was.  Meditation, though, I was familiar with.  The reason is  because, about 15 years ago I read this amazing article about an insurance company that conducted a study which showed how those who meditate on a regular basis visited the doctor 60% less.

I was “all in” after reading that!  I was a typical “Westerner”(DANGERS OF NEGATIVE FEELINGS) in my thinking at that time, but gradually made progress over the years and I’m recovering, so to speak- lol.

Understanding the concept of chakras‘, to me anyway, was another level in my journey and understanding.  A leapfrog!

Chakras’, in my opinion, are a core area of Wellness.    I also noticed that it is missing from a lot of “Wellness sites” in my studies.  Why (?)

 

SIMPLE CHAKRA MEDITATION

Here is a simple Chakra meditation that uses colors associated with the 7 main chakra that you can easily use everyday in less than a couple of minutes.

11 steps 
(chakra chart)

1.)  Lie down where you’re comfortable.  Start breathing deeply and slowly. While Inhaling, image a white light filling your body, from your feet to the top of your head. Then see the white light flowing out the top of your head like a water fountain.

2.)  Exhale, bringing that light from the top of your head down around the outside of your body. Let this white light create a bubble around your body.

3.)   Inhale that light into the soles of your feet and into your body, filling the inside of your body with white light again. Repeat this breathing cycle a couple of times until your body is totally relaxed. Let the thoughts float out of your mind. With your eyes closed, complete the following steps, trying to see in your imagination, the individual movements of each of your chakras.

4.)   Bring your attention to the base of your spine. This is where your root chakra is located. It’s red and this chakra governs the  fight or flight response.  See and feel this chakra slowly rotating for a few minutes.

5.)  Move your attention up to the area of your stomach just below your navel. This is the chakra of creativity and sexual organs and is the color of orange. Imagine a round ball of orange light slowly spinning.

6.)  Move your attention up to the area of your stomach just above your navel. This is your solar plexus chakra.  It’ color is yellow and governs your nervous system. Watch it slowly spinning for a few minutes as a ball of yellow light  feeling the warmth and energy envelop your stomach.

7.)  Move your attention up to the area around your heart. This chakra is green and deals with feelings of love. Imagine it spinning slowly, it’s energy swirling around your heart.

8.)  Move your attention up to your throat area. This chakra is blue and governs expression and communication. Imagine this chakra rotating slowly, soothing your entire throat area.

9.)  Now move your attention up into the center of your forehead. This is the  “third eye” chakra, and its color is indigo. This chakra governs your the intuition.

10.)  Bring your focus to the top of your head. This is your crown chakra and its color is violet. It controls your spiritual nature. Visualize this chakra spinning on top of your head.

11.)  Bring your attention back to the base of your spine at your root chakra and with one long breath pull a white light all the way up, from the root chakra to the crown chakra. Dissolve all of their individual colors into white light which is the combination of all colors.

 

 

Regularly practicing  this exercise will keep your chakras balanced and energized and will keep your body and emotions finely tuned

What is a Chakra meditation?

 

wellness on fireThe teaching of the Buddhists’ and Hindus’ say that all of the chakras should contribute to our well-being.  Some of our chakras are usually not open all the way and some are over-active, or even near closed.

If the chakras are not balanced, peace with the self cannot be achieved.  And at the other end of the spectrum of “peace” is of course fear/stress.  Fear and stress lead to disease.

Focusing on the main 7 chakras in our bodies will energize, balance and clean them restoring them to their natural state.  This is turn creates and produces health.

The best part is that, it is easy to do, and results are tangible if you are in tune to your body.  Most chakra meditations get the best results when performed daily.
